The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Quality Programme Manager to join our team at University Hospital Wishaw. To support the Director of Quality/Head of Assurance in the planning, management and delivery of a portfolio of Quality projects designed to support delivery of the highest quality health and care services in NHS Lanarkshire through monitoring and using performance, quality and safety data to identify issues that need to be addressed and taking follow up action to improve the quality of the care and services delivered.

What we'll need you to bring
- Educated to MSc level or equivalent training in improvement science or extensive practical experience of supporting implementation of Quality Assurance / Improvement programmes of work.
- Demonstrable experience of managing multiple projects
- Have undertaken a management role in the NHS or equivalent health sector
- Experience of managing teams and evidence of formal management training
- Have broad experience and understanding of the operations of the NHS
- Be able to demonstrate a clear grasp of quality improvement concepts and their practical application in a health care setting
- Have the ability to develop others in Quality Assurance / Improvement methodologies through training, coaching, mentoring and consulting
- Experience of successfully engaging and collaborating with diverse groups of stakeholders in the development and delivery of Quality initiatives
- Ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders to secure their engagement in Quality Assurance work including:
- Clear, confident and influential communicator, adept at facilitating and training groups
- Effective networking capabilities and an ability to develop and maintain effective positive relationships with key partners
- Have a sound understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing Quality initiatives and experience of having applied this in practice.
- Knowledge of information gathering, data sources and research methodologies and experience of interpreting and analysing information from a variety of sources
- Have a sound understanding of the benefits in using data and its practical application to bring about improvements in care
- Ability to produce high quality written reports and papers
- Self-aware and authentic – understands and can articulate own strengths, motivations, patterns, needs and limitations. Able to engage in open and honest discussions of own performance and can use feedback constructively to improve performance
- Be experienced in preparing and delivering presentations to a wide range of audiences
- IT literate including ability to use MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to operate effectively under pressure and to deliver within tight timescales
- Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

- Evidence of formal management training
- Training in improvement science
- Experience managing multiple projects
