Working as part of the Substance Misuse Service under the direction of the Registered Nurse then Health Care Support Worker will have a significant role in delivering care to patients. The role will entail supporting clinical staff to deliver, routine clinics/care within the Health Centre and at times in the Residential Prison Halls, including Medication Administration, Health Checks, low level psycho social interventions, behavioural change, while working in collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary health team and the Scottish Prison Service. Experience working within a drug and alcohol recovery environment is essential .

You must display good communication and interpersonal skills, be organised and have experience of working within a caring environment. You will be committed to delivering high quality safe and effective patient centred care to this complex group within this unique setting.

You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
