About Vega
Vega is building the distribution operating system (“AltOS”) for the alternatives industry, empowering asset managers to efficiently service and scale their client base in an era of hypergrowth for alternatives.
Through a single unified Core engine, Vega orchestrates previously siloed offline processes across pre-trade, execution and post-trade client operations, while enabling asset managers to distribute their products through a scalable “Alternatives-as-a-Service” framework. Vega’s modular, API-driven architecture ensures compatibility with a broad range of existing point solutions and third party stakeholders, setting the foundations for the first purpose-built infrastructure layer for the alternatives industry.
Vega's founding team consists of alternatives specialists from investment firms such as KKR, Blackstone, Elliott and Goldman Sachs, along with top product and engineering talent from successful fintech scale-ups like Revolut and Trade Republic. Vega has raised over $28m in funding from Apollo, Motive Ventures, Picus Capital, Citi Ventures, and 60 senior executives from the alternative investment industry. The role:
Location: London/Hybrid
Team: Product & Engineering
Duration: 8-10 weeks
Deadline: Rolling
We are looking for exceptional interns to join our team and help shape the next generation of infrastructure in alternative investments. You will work at the intersection of product and engineering - with a strong technical slant - on initiatives that push the boundaries of what’s possible in fintech, including with AI / Machine Learning. Whether it’s using LLMs to streamline client workflows or designing intelligent automation across the lifecycle of alternative investments, you’ll help us unlock new capabilities for asset managers globally. This role is ideal for someone who wants to get deeply involved in both technical problem-solving and product thinking, and who is excited by the idea of seeing their ideas make it into production in a matter of weeks. Interns are treated like core team members; you will have real responsibility from Day One.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to prototype, build and ship AI/ML-powered features
- Research the latest advancements in applied AI (LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, agents, etc.) and identify product opportunities
- Contribute to technical and product specs for AI-powered tools
- Explore real user pain points through stakeholder sessions and propose smart, scalable solutions
- Write clean, efficient code to support prototyping or production work
- Present findings and progress to senior team members regularly
Requirements:
- Strong academic record in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related fields, ideally from a top-tier university
- Solid foundation in machine learning, data structures and algorithms
- Curiosity for how technology can be used to solve business problems
- A product mindset: user-first thinking, and an appreciation for design, UX, and clarity
- Bonus: Previous work experience in finance, consulting, fintech, or a high-growth startup
