Right Now Group is recruiting on behalf of a trusted logistics partner for a hands-on and motivated individual to join their team as a Freight Packer. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work and is eager to learn a skilled trade in the export packaging industry. You'll be trained to build custom export cases and ensure goods are safely packed to meet both customer requirements and global shipping standards.

Key Responsibilities - Freight Packer:

• Build bespoke export cases using wood, plywood, plastic, or metal according to shipping specs.

• Measure and cut materials using saws, drills, and other woodworking tools.

• Assemble cases including sidewalls, bases, lids, hinges, locks, and handles with precision.

• Add internal cushioning and shock-absorbing materials to protect fragile items in transit.

• Conduct final inspections on completed cases to ensure quality and compliance.

• Drive the company pick-up truck occasionally to collect and return freight from the airline.

• Communicate with customers via email when necessary.

What We're Looking For - Freight Packer:

• A hands-on, practical approach with an interest in woodworking or construction tasks.

• Confidence using hand and power tools safely and correctly.

• Physically fit - able to lift, carry, and be on your feet for extended periods.

• A strong eye for detail and accuracy.

• Basic IT skills.

• A full UK driving licence (required for operating the company pick-up truck).

• Ability to pass a clear DBS check and provide a 5-year checkable work history.
