Service Administrator
Littlehampton, England, gb
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for these 2x positions is hybrid working from home, with 2x days in the office, based in Walton Annex at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
Join our Commercial Team, where we manage national contracts tendered by National Procurement on behalf of Health Boards, alongside key local contracting and tendering activities. Our work is crucial for ensuring legal compliance and identifying cost-saving opportunities that drive the Sustainability & Value Programme. As part of a recent departmental review, these positions have been created within the existing structure to address the evolving needs of our service and to build an optimal skill mix for the future. The Commercial Procurement teams are responsible for implementing national contracts and advancing local Health Board contracting. These teams are divided into categories of spend, including Medical/Surgical Consumables, Facilities, Estates, Corporate, and Capital Equipment purchases and associated maintenance contracts. Additionally, there is a small standalone team dedicated to Sustainability & Value (S&V) activities.
These roles are ideal for individuals seeking a career as specialist procurement professionals, offering opportunities to expand their expertise and achieve procurement qualifications. If you're ready to embark on a rewarding career that makes a meaningful impact in healthcare procurement, we encourage you to apply.
