We are seeking to recruit a Registered Nurse to join our Heart Failure team. The role involves working closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team to provide a patient-centred specialist nursing service. The aim of the Heart Failure service to optimize the care continuum for patients with heart failure, managing their care from diagnosis through hospital admission and within the community.
As a Registered Nurse, the Heart Failure Clinical Nurse Specialist will work with the Multi-Disciplinary Team to provide patient-centred specialist care to optimize the continuum of care for patients with heart failure. This includes effectively managing patients throughout their entire care episode.
The Heart Failure Clinical Nurse Specialist will demonstrate a high level of autonomous specialist competence in clinical care and management of patients with heart failure.
Applicants must be Registered Nurses with experience in Acute Cardiology or Heart Failure Services. The successful candidate
must provide evidence of education to a relevant degree level or demonstrable equivalent, along with an understanding of cardiology and heart failure services and patient management. Well-developed leadership skills are also required. The successful candidate must be able to fulfil this post’s clinical remit and scope. Depending on the successful candidate’s professional experience and further education, this requirement can be supported with educational and professional development under the Agenda for Change Annexe 21.
A valid driver’s license and access to a car are essential. There is potential eligibility for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s Car Lease Scheme.
The post is part-time and provides an opportunity for a nurse seeking to continue their professional career within Cardiology Heart Failure services. The shift pattern is currently Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, with exact days determined by service needs. The successful candidate will be based within the South Sector working within the Heart Fair services based within the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Gartnavel General Hospital and you may be required to work within other sectors or hospital bases as needed.
