Plant Operator
Farnworth, null, gb
Team: Markets Management
About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible team player to join our busy Markets Operations team.
Working alongside your colleagues within the small operative and cleaning team, you will help to ensure the entire Market has high standards of cleanliness and health and safety, maintaining the welcoming, safe, award-winning environment that Bury Market is renowned for.
You will be working on a 6 week rolling shift pattern, between 32.5hrs and 35.5hrs per week. Each operative is allocated a certain area of the Market each week eg. Fish & Meat Hall, Market Hall, Open Market.
As this is an annualised hours contract, you will be required to work additional hours to make up your total hours for the year. This will be achieved by covering colleague absence and peak trading periods.
With 150,000 visitors a week and 250+ traders, no two days are the same. Unforeseen challenges can arise on top of the daily routine, which will require you to use your initiative and prioritise your workload.
We also have £30m worth of investment currently under way, as well as future surrounding developments, making this an exciting time to join us.
You will be supported by a friendly, approachable Management team, directly reporting to the Operations Supervisor, with training and development opportunities for those who wish to progress.
