Job Introduction

We are currently looking for a Senior Logistics Manager to join our Blocks team based out of Tarmac i10 Office, Wolverhampton. The key elements of this role are leading the development and execution of the logistics strategy across the Blocks business, ensuring alignment with operations and business goals.

Main Responsibilities

The role of Senior Logistics Manage r is accountable for delivering operational excellence, driving innovation, and maintaining compliance with safety and legal standards. 

Other responsibilities include: 

Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the logistics strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Lead cross-functional collaboration and participate in national forums.

Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to national safety and legal requirements, including vehicle standards, operator licences, and traffic commissioner regulations. Drive a culture of safety and compliance across the organization.

Haulage Operations Management: Oversee haulier contract agreements, rate governance, and onboarding processes.

Optimisation and Performance: Drive the delivery of the logistics function ensuring the highest level of service to our customers. Managing cost and capacity whilst driving an optimisation plan to unlock efficiency and value. Expand and maintain KPIs to monitor logistics performance, identify improvement opportunities, and optimise cost structures.

Innovation and Digitalisation: Lead innovation initiatives to enhance logistics processes and technology utilisation.

Sustainability: Working alongside the national logistics function, build a plan to evolve the fleet and unlock CO2e reductions 

Leadership and Team Management: Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance across the the team.

Suitable candidates for the role of  Senior Logistics Manager will be able to demonstrate proven experience, preferably working within a similar environment. To be successful in the role you will also be/have:
