Job Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Transport Coordinator to join our Transport team at our Heywood site on a full time permanent basis! 

Salary: £35,700 per annum.

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday, (06:00 - 14:00) Sunday-Thursday, (13:30-21:30) rotating shifts.

As Senior Transport Coordinator you will manage and oversee the Transport operation, ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained. Planning driver and vehicle resource to achieve delivery / collection times.

Key Duties of a Senior Transport Coordinator:

  • Optimising resource and adherence of WTD and drivers’ hours legislation.
  • Signing off and overseeing an effective transport plan to achieve on time delivery and collection performance expectations.
  • Overseing own and subcontractor resource to achieve delivery / collection times, creating and updating daily run summary.
  • Effectively communicating with the Planning team, Customer service, other depots and when required, directly with customer.
  • Monitoring arrival and departure times, ensuring deliveries are made within the specified windows.
  • Finding the best fit solution for customer collections, adhering to collection times.
  • Ensuring any investigations and disciplinaries are carried out in line with company process / procedures.
  • Ensuring all accidents, incidents and near misses are logged, investigated and reported.
  • Carrying out colleague reviews.
  • Liaising and planning drivers in for meetings / courses as required.

Qualifications

  • Significant knowledge & experience of tachograph/ driving rules and regulations.
  • Previous management/ supervisory experience desirable. 
  • Attention to detail/accuracy.
  • Planning and organisation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft office packages.
  • Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines.
  • Be professional, approachable and helpful to ensure smooth running of the general operation.
  • Significant transport experience in FMCG environment.
