Job Description
What will you be doing? 
We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a passion for tank design to join a fast-paced nuclear project. You'll be part of a team solving complex engineering challenges that directly impact the UK’s energy landscape. If pressure vessels, seismic loads, and precision design get you excited — this one's for you.
Your main responsibilities will be: 
- Designing and optimising industrial tanks (pressure, surge, accumulator, and storage).
- Performing stress and pressure calculations, ensuring structural integrity.
- Solving real-world challenges like hydrostatic pressure, wind, and seismic forces.
- Delivering designs from concept through fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
- Using advanced software tools for 3D modelling, stress analysis, and compliance checking.
Who are we looking for? 
- Tank Design Expertise (3–5 years preferred):
Experience designing a range of tanks — storage tanks, accumulator tanks, surge tanks, and pressure vessels — used in sectors like energy, oil & gas, water treatment, or industrial manufacturing. - Software Skills:
Proficient in Bentley AutoPIPE Vessel, PV Elite, or COMPRESS for design; FEA tools like ANSYS or Abaqus; and CAD tools like AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks for 2D/3D modelling. - Industry Standards:
Solid understanding of ASME BPVC (Section VIII), API 650/620/653, EN 14015, and EN 13445 — from design to inspection.

Qualifications
Experience, skills and qualifications required: 
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Pressure Vessel Design, or a related discipline.
- Proficient in identifying design challenges and proposing innovative solutions, ensuring the integrity and safety of tank structures.
