Our client, a global automotive parts manufacturer, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their Burton upon Trent plant. This is an important strategic role within the organisation for a multi-skilled maintenance engineer (electrical bias) with experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment to take part in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of plant and warehouse facilities on three rotating shifts. The Role: As Maintenance Technician, your responsibilities will include: Maintenance of the assembly equipment and facilities as and when required. Planning and carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance. Respond to breakdowns on the assembly equipment on an urgent basis. Recording and analysing data from equipment failures. Liaising with and working with outside contractors. Apply problem solving techniques to assist in improving uptime on equipment. Using your understanding of pneumatics, electrics, PLC systems (Siemens) and robotics to working on bespoke assembly fixtures and conveyor systems. Flexible and willing to work in any area/shift, and support opposite shift when required. If you have supervisory experience, this role can become a Senior Maintenance Engineer with responsibility for two Maintenance Technicians on the shift with a higher salary. The successful Maintenance Technician should have the following skills and experience: Maintenance experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideally automotive Time-served apprenticeship with relevant qualification: Level 3 or HNC, or equivalent Proficient with Siemens PLCs, fault finding and writing / structuring new programs 18th Edition certification would be ideal Ability to work under pressure Good interpersonal skills with the ability to cooperate with people of different levels inside/outside the company Ability to identify and eliminate health, safety, ergonomic and environmental hazards Willingness to learn and develop, and to undertake any relevant training and self-development activities where required The following skills and experience would be beneficial: Certified skills e.g. Fanuc robot controllers, MEWPs / working at height, forklift truck licence Ability to lead a team Use of CMMS for tracking and controlling at maintenance activities IT skills including MS Office Suite - Outlook, Teams, Excel Benefits: Competitive salary Shift allowance 25% of base salary 26 days holiday, rising to 30 days with service + bank holidays Pension scheme Life assurance Excellent training Free onsite parking Three rotating shifts (Monday to Friday, no weekends): 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am 38 hours per week Maintenance Technician Burton on Trent, Staffordshire commutable from Derby, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Lichfield, Uttoxeter, Tamworth, Walsall, Coalville, Sutton Coldfield, Swadlincote, Rugeley, Measham, Fradley, Burntwood, Castle Donington etc Competitive salary + shift allowance + benefits Maintenance Engineer Shift Engineer Mechanical Electrical Electronics Mechanical Multi-Skilled Multiskilled Automotive Engineer Plant Engineer Maintenance Technician Lead Maintenance Senior Engineer Lead Engineer Maintenance Lead
