Here in the CYPIT team we have the opportunity for an experienced band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our team based in Maidenhead. You will hold a mixed caseload developing your clinical skills within early years, school age and special schools. You will need to have previous experience working with families from a wide variety of backgrounds and have an understanding of the diverse needs of children and young people. You will collaborate across a multi-disciplinary team communicating with various parties to ensure that we deliver a seamless service. Understanding of the value of integrated services is essential. You will be expected to act as an ambassador for our service and will have excellent communication skills ensuring you are calm and confident, dealing with challenging situations. The service operates Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 pm and we are open to both full and part time applications. Main duties of the job Take responsibility for a dedicated caseload and clinical role. Carry out clinical assessments within your level of clinical knowledge and skill. Identify relevant therapy needs from which you can develop and deliver an individualised management plan, with support from a senior therapist as needed. Contribute to and deliver training to schools/early years setting, parents, CYP and staff, as part of therapy support and delivery. Contribute to the implementation and development of the impact-based model of clinical decision making. Work collaboratively with education, local authority, medical and nursing staff to ensure delivery of a coordinated integrated service along with Speech and Language Therapy and Physiotherapy colleagues. Person specification Education/Qualifications/Training Essential criteria Professional Qualification Professional knowledge acquired through degree/ diploma supplemented by post graduate diploma specialist training, experience, short courses plus further specialist Training Able to demonstrate required clinical knowledge of up to date Occupational therapy interventions and service issues relevant to Children and Young Peoples service provision.
