The Job Role Details: We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the vineyard team in Kent. You will provide guidance and leadership as a senior member of the vineyard team under the direction of the Vineyard Supervisor. Working closely with the team to ensure outcomes of the day-to-day tasks are achieved per specification. In doing so you will provide ongoing training and mentoring to all vineyard team members. Key Responsibilities: You will Ensure all work is carried out as per Supervisor or Management instruction and provide training and guidance to other members of the team. Works include; Pruning. Management of vines - leaf trimming, shoot thinning, yield manipulation. Spray applications - record keeping. Trellis maintenance - including vineyard establishment as required. Ground management - weed control, mowing and soil cultivation. Machinery maintenance. Site maintenance. Under the guidance of the Supervisor, you will assist and direct; Supervision of agency staff maintaining a professional and approachable attitude. Assist with record keeping when requested by the Vineyard Supervisor. Provide cover for the Vineyard Supervisor during periods of holiday, sickness, and act in their absence. Provide updates to Vineyard Manager/Viticulturist over this period. Ensure staff are following correct procedures and offer guidance/training when lacking. Report to the Vineyard Supervisor any issues that may affect the smooth running of the vineyard. Constantly strive for improvements in quality, efficiency, cost and professionalism. Provide ongoing training and assistance to all team members across various vineyard sites as requested. Undertake duties commensurate with responsibility of the role and any other reasonable management request. Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications: You will have / be An interest in viticulture and vine husbandry. Excited about learning about UK vineyards and the growing industry we are a part of. Well organised, detail orientated and committed. Able to work well both independently and as part of a team. Due to the nature of the work, the following attributes are essential: A confident driver. Hold PA1 & PA3 and/or telehandler qualifications - desirable. Good communication skills. Good levels of English literacy and numeracy. Ability to follow directions and work orders. Possess a clean and valid driving license and have unrestricted access to a vehicle during the working week. Willingness to supervise and work alongside Agency staff.
