Mencap is seeking passionate Female Support Workers to join our incredible team in the Leigh area of Wigan.

As a Female Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.

From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

We are looking for 3 female support workers to join our wonderful team. This is an opportunity to support 2 lovely ladies within the family home.

The Location
This role is based in Wigan in the WN7 area


Who will I be supporting ?
Both ladies have learning disabilities and complex health needs. They require full support with all aspects of daily life

What will I be doing ?
Your duties will include medication administration, moving and handling, peg feeding and personal care. These ladies enjoy music, arts and crafts, football and good company.

What hours will I be working ?
The shifts are 8am to 8pm across 7 days so a level of flexibility is important

What we are looking for
  • A genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Preferred driver, but not essential.

    Contract options :

    ·Full-time:37.5 hrs

    ·Part-time: flexible hours based on availability

    Shift times :

    All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!

    ·Days: Between 07:00-22:00 

    ·Waking Nights: 22:00-07:00

    There is also a sleep-in available where you will  receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £62.45. 

    *All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.

    *Due to the nature of this service we are looking for female only applicants. This post is exempt under the Equality Act , Schedule 9, Part 1.
