Senior FP&A Analyst (Financial Planning & Analysis)

£60,000 - £75,000 + 10% Annual Bonus & Benefits
Reporting to – Head of FP&A

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team enables the company to have better financial information to make informed and financially relevant decisions to support its strategy and ambition.

Working as part of the FP&A team, the FP&A Senior Analyst will be responsible for delivering value-added monthly analysis, and rolling and quarterly forecasts as well as supporting the FP&A Manager in delivering the annual budget and strategic plan.

A key focus of the Senior FP&A Analyst will be to lead monthly reviews with stakeholders and ensure variances to Plan/Forecast are well understood and explained. Furthermore, and to a lessen extend, this role holder will be required to understand commercial arrangements with our clients with a view of maximising contribution and profitability.

What you will be doing:

  • Ownership of monthly group analysis of monthly performance including the production of monthly Board packs
  • Perform detailed analysis of key contribution drivers
  • Analysis of cost variance by drivers, inflation, procurement savings, productivity/efficiency
  • Operational analysis of performance per activity per business KPI to measure productivity gain as part of the company business strategic roadmap
  • Ownership of monthly cost pack for engagement with senior stakeholders
  • Provide value-added, insightful variance analysis and commentaries supported by business engagement
  • Ownership of rolling and quarterly forecasts as well as delivery of the annual budget cycle and 3-year plan
  • Improve profitability analysis and insight
  • Develop benefits tracking capabilities to support investment appraisals and ROI analysis
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis for the Group / FP&A Managers and the CFO
  • Improve analysis to provide a deeper understanding of the P&L to the executive team
  • Support the development of Forecasting tools and automation of MI
  • Line management of a direct report
  • What we want from you:

  • Qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA (or equivalent) – Desirable
  • Good communicator with a track record of business partnering and supporting senior stakeholders
  • Experience in cost and profitability analysis
  • Highly Analytical and keen attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to multi-task, plan and prioritise own workloads
  • Exceptional advanced Excel skills
  • Strong PowerPoint skills
  • Knowledge of QlikView and PowerBI would be preferable
  • Natural IT curiosity and at ease with IT systems
  • Have a passion for process improvement
