Position : Team Leader
Salary : £13.52 per hour
Type: Annualised Permanent Contract
Working Hours: Annual Hours to be worked 2184 per year equating to a weekly average of 42 hours per week. Monday to Friday: Weekly 2-shift rotation between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm. Weekend working: As a 7-day operations, weekend coverage is required as part of this contract. This operates on a rota basis; you will be rota’d in to work 1 in every 4 weekends. You are only required to attend work on a weekend if work is available, confirmation regarding your weekend shifts will be provided nearer the time, indicating whether you are required to work or will be stood down.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Compound Manager and Shift Supervisor, the main fundamentals of the role involve ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the site on a day-to-day basis by providing leadership, guidance, training, and support to workers.
Key responsibilities of the role:
To lead and support all Multi Skilled Operatives (MSOs) in ensuring vehicles are properly located and all movements align with company procedures.
To guide and assist MSOs in conducting thorough checks to ensure all vehicles meet the company’s quality standards.
To ensure MSOs adhere to health and safety standards throughout the site.
To serve as the primary point of contact and first line of support for your team, especially in the absence of the Supervisor and Manager.
To direct, support, and motivate the team to enhance performance.
To assist with operational requirements as defined by the shift supervisor, including evaluating workflows and optimizing staff utilisation to maximise efficiency.
The primary function of this role operates outdoors in a large automotive compound facility. Its associated duties are conducted in varying weather conditions throughout the year (PPE is provided to support such tasks). As you will be expected to store and transport vehicles in an outdoor logistics facility which also involves moderate amounts of general walking throughout the working day
About you?
To be successful, you must be over 25 years old, possess a valid driver’s license with fewer than 6 penalty points, and have no DR10 offenses for insurance purposes.
To succeed in this role, candidates must be able to work the specified shift times above.
The ideal candidate will be confident in their driving and have experience with automatic and manual vehicles.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Team Leader.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and working experience within Automotive/ Logistics/ Distribution operations.
