The position of Class 1 Tramper involves:

  • Collecting and delivering customers products on a curtain sided trailer, this will include a great deal of load security using ratchet straps.
  • Delivering loads throughout the UK both full and groupage loads.
  • Using a handheld PDA to complete paperwork.
  • Dealing with customers face to face and over the phone.
  • Keeping in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and managing

    • our customers’ expectations.

  • This will include nights away.
  • Attending regular training sessions.

    • Essential skills required for Class 1 Tramper :

  • Must hold a UK HGV Class 1 CE Licence.
  • Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
  • Be passionate about providing excellent customer service.
  • Working to deadlines.
  • Confident, polite and a team player.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Due to the nature of the role applicants must be fit, flexible, hardworking and self-motivated.

  • Basic salary for Class 1 Tramper is £33,pa, PLUS up to £3,pa Tax Free night out allowance.
  • Hours of work are based on 4on 4off rota. Enhanced rates available for working weekends. £70 every 5 years for HGV Medical. Attendance for CPC paid.
