Owen Payne Recruitment are seeking an experienced Agricultural Engineer to join our client who are the 2nd largest crop growers in the UK!

Due to the nature of this role, previous experience as a  Farm/Agriculture Engineer is essential.

    • Duties of a Farm Engineer:

  • Carry out routine servicing of all farm machinery
  • Replace essential fluids and lubricants
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and up to date
  • Complete end of season overhaul and repairs on a wide range of agricultural machinery
  • Ensure all machines and vehicles are in good working condition
  • Transfer equipment to alternative vehicles as necessary
  • Replacing parts and assist in building new machines, within the workshop environment.
  • Diagnose faults on machines using hydraulic or pneumatic systems and low voltage electronics
  • Ensure faults and repairs are carried out effectively and in a timely fashion
  • Carry out field-based repairs as and when required
  • Deal with emergency breakdown repairs

    • Candidate Requirements – Essential:

  • Experience and knowledge of agricultural machine maintenance
  • Experienced with Pneumatics and Hydraulics
  • Strong ability for diagnostics and repairs

    • Candidate Requirements – Desirable:

  • Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications (Level 3)
  • Electronics and Welding (TIG/MIG) Skills
  • Telescopic JCB driver
  • Safe use of Oxy fuels
  • Abrasive Wheels
  • MS Office skills
