First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Battery Service Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to customers and colleagues over a range of industrial batteries and battery charging solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Work independently in a safe manner on customer sites, you will need to be able to communicate well with customers and internal colleagues.
Communicate regularly with the service desk and give accurate reports.
Brief the customer on the practical use and maintenance of equipment and recommend the purchase of new or replacement products as appropriate.
Ensure that maintenance, installation, and repair of 2v cells/batteries and industrial chargers at customer sites are carried out to agreed standards and technical specifications i.e., the correct components are fitted, and thorough testing is undertaken, and any necessary reports are completed.
Respond to breakdowns and carry out the necessary fault diagnosis and repair submitting accurate reports via Motivity reporting system.
Ensure that any goods returned have the correct labelling/paperwork and are entered onto any necessary logs.
Comply with H&S, ISO9001/14001 and Safe Contractor systems ensuring that procedures are always followed.
Carry out risk assessments on site and completion of any health and safety paperwork/inductions required by the customer.
Maintain van stocks and tools and ensure the van is always kept clean and tidy and van checks are carried out and any faults reported.
Skills and Qualifications:
Physically fit [heavy lifting involved].
Able to work on own initiative and be self-motivated.
Flexible, adaptable, and dependable.
Driver’s licence essential.
Knowledge of 2-volt cells, batteries, and battery chargers essential.
Basic AC knowledge with the ability to test AC circuits and install battery chargers.
