We are currently recruiting a HGV1 Driver for a our client based in Canterbury specialising in the delivery and collection of steel across Kent, Sussex, and London.

Job Description:
As an HGV1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of steel. This role requires excellent driving skills, adherence to safety regulations, and a commitment to providing top-notch customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely load, transport, and deliver steel across Kent, Sussex, and London.
  • Ensure all deliveries are made on time and in excellent condition.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections using the company’s system.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
  • Communicate effectively with the logistics team and customers to provide excellent service.

    • Requirements:

  • Valid HGV1 (Class 1) driving license.
  • Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
  • Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Previous experience in driving HGV1 vehicles
  • Strong understanding of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to handle physical work, including chaining down steel
