We are currently recruiting a HGV1 Driver for a our client based in Canterbury specialising in the delivery and collection of steel across Kent, Sussex, and London.
Job Description: As an HGV1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of steel. This role requires excellent driving skills, adherence to safety regulations, and a commitment to providing top-notch customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely load, transport, and deliver steel across Kent, Sussex, and London.
Ensure all deliveries are made on time and in excellent condition.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections using the company’s system.
Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
Communicate effectively with the logistics team and customers to provide excellent service.
Requirements:
Valid HGV1 (Class 1) driving license.
Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
Digital Tachograph Card.
Previous experience in driving HGV1 vehicles
Strong understanding of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
Ability to handle physical work, including chaining down steel
