HGV Class 1 Driver

Our client in Cowley is looking for a HGV driver to support their operation as a cover driver. This role is predominantly driving HGV1 vehicles however. As cover, your role day to day will vary, including trunking, shunting and deliveries. This will be 5 x shifts per week.

The role will be starting immediately.

Duties:

  • Driving HGV1 vehicle as required to cover deliveries or trunking. (Deliveries up to 5-6 max per shift)
  • Liaising with the Transport office team during your shift regarding jobs requiring completing.
  • All vehicle checks completed to ensure the vehicle is safe to use
  • Driving in a safe, responsible manner on behalf of the client you are representing
  • Follow driver working time directive at all times

    • Requirements:

  • Hold HGV1 driving licence
  • Be open and flexible to driving different classes of vehicles.
  • Be prepared to wait for your job, shunt or delivery. (Paid throughout)
  • Hold CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Good Knowledge of working time directive
  • Maximum of 6 points on your licence
  • Good communication to per hour

    • Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • start at 3pm – usually 8-10h shift
