Catherine is a very bright young woman who has ASC. She has recently experienced a traumatic situation and is working through some associated mental health issues. Prior to this, Catherine was highly functioning and living a full life, but the experience has knocked her confidence and set her back somewhat. Nancy is a robust, healthy, energetic little girl, who is inquisitive and unusually talkative for her age. She loves all kinds of food, playing in the park, swimming, soft play, listening to and singing songs, and building with her blocks. She is already toilet trained thanks to the loving support of her mum, Catherine.
Overview of role: The family are going through a period of adjustment following Catherine’s traumatic situation. Catherine needs the time and space to get back on her feet and re-integrate herself as Nancy’s mother. Catherine has her own mental health support workers. For her family to allocate their time to Catherine, their work commitments and Nancy’s care, they are looking to recruit someone who will help keep the house in order which will include cleaning the house, cooking simple, healthy family meals, carrying out errands, and at times, looking after Nancy. It will be possible to agree, in advance, that occasionally you do not work on these weekends, if you have a special event to attend, such as a wedding or special trip planned, for example. The rate is an hour. The family would like someone to also have some availability during the week to potentially cover sickness/staff holidays. Additional weekday hours are paid at gross per hour. The needs of the family will evolve, so this is a 6-month contract, to be renewed by mutual agreement on a 2-month basis.
