Are you an experience Generator Technician detail? Are you a confident decision-maker, adaptable to work independently and as part of a wider team?

We are seeking a Generator Technician to join our small, family-feel team in a full-time, permanent basis based on our site in Kintore, Aberdeenshire. The role is based on our working yard.

We are seeking a site-based candidate to work Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with a 30-minute lunch break.

As Generator Technician and part of the service team, you will maintain and repair hire fleet and customer generators, conduct services and load testing, and prepare equipment for hire. You'll also support both the service and office teams, handle deliveries and collections, and ensure work areas are clean and organised.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of the service team, maintaining and repairing our Hire Fleet and customers Generators.
  • Undertake minor and major services/repairs of our equipment in the depot and prepare equipment for hire contracts. Load testing will be carried out to ensure effectiveness of equipment.
  • Provide support to both the service team and office team within the company.
  • Carry out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are clean and tidy.
  • Delivery and collection of generators and associated items to hire contracts.
  • Be a part of the On Call Rota and provide back up for our customers 24/7, 365 days a year.

Skills:

  • Experience as a Diesel Generator Technician with proven work experience in maintenance and repair of Diesel Generators.
  • Other mechanical backgrounds will be considered i.e. Plant/HGV.
  • General fabrication/welding skills.
  • Proficient in using power tools and other equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge to identify parts required to facilitate effective repairs.
  • The ability to work well under pressured in a fast-paced environment.

Essential:

  • Full, clean driving licence with the ability to tow trailers.
  • Mechanical background.
  • Electrical background.

Desirable:

  • Forklift tickets.
  • HGV Class 1 or 2.
