What will you do? Make an impact!
The main purpose of this role is to ensure effective collections and deliveries from customer sites to transfer station or third party disposal sites using only vehicles you are licensed and authorized to drive. You will ensure vehicles are operated in accordance with current legislation and company policies procedures and associated documents.
• Collection of hazardous and non-hazardous waste from customers sites using company or hire vehicles to include, 7.5 tonne and vans
• Delivery of waste to final disposal points from transfer station
• Load preparation at customers sites to include labelling/packing, manual handling and completion of paperwork
• Completion and documentation of vehicle checks and defect reporting
• Completion of collection paperwork in accordance with current waste legislation
• Loading and off loading at depot
• Liaising with transport office on a daily basis to confirm next days jobs.
Do you have what it takes?
In order to be successful in this role you will need to:
• Hold (or be willing to undertake) ADR qualification & 7.5 ton license
• Attain FLT license if required to load vehicle at customers sites
• Carry out daily checks on your vehicle and its equipment, reporting, repairing and/or replacing deficient parts or equipment.
• Liaise with Transport Planner to resolve any variances, changes or transportation issues prior to leaving customers / suppliers sites
• Where time allows at the end of working shift, ensure used materials are replenished, vehicle has sufficient fuel and oil for the next day and check through your paperwork for the following day .
• Experience in the wase industry would be beneficial but isn't essential
• Comply with health and safety requirements and site rules at customer and supplier sites
