Then look no further as my award-winning client is looking out for skilled Senior and Principal Civil Engineers, with relevant UK experience of minimum 4+ years' within the drainage and highways sectors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design drainage systems, including SUDS, infrastructure for buildings, stormwater management, flood prevention, and sewage systems, etc. ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Design highway infrastructures, including road layouts, pavements, intersections, and related structures, applying working knowledge of S38 and S278
  • Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications and liaise with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals.
  • Lead and oversee the design and construction of drainage and some highway projects.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and government agencies, to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Conduct site investigations and surveys to gather necessary data for design and planning.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.

    Successful candidate specifications:
  • BEng / MSc / MEng in Civil Engineering
  • Flexibility to travel for work.
  • A commitment to the pursuit of becoming a chartered professional and continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Experience in the use of hydraulic modelling software, such as MicroDrainage.
  • Experience in the regulatory approvals process for drainage. For example, Section 106 and Section 278 type applications.
  • Working knowledge of S38 and S278
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Micro Drainage, MS Office, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong numerical, analysis and design skills.
  • Committed to work and capable of proactively managing own tasks, workload and costs.
  • Planned and organised in your approach to work and meeting deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team.
  • Previous post graduate experience would be an advantage, but not essential.
  • A full driver’s licence would be an advantage.
