We are looking for a 2 x Casual Van Drivers 1 for 1-2 days per week and 1 for evenings 2-3 evenings per week 12hrs per week.
PURPOSE: To ensure our food is delivered to our customers safely and in excellent condition, providing a remarkable customer facing service in compliance with all legal requirements
Experience: Minimum of two years driving the class of vehicle, ideally delivering in a multi drop food delivery environment. Aged 25 and over for Insurance.
Skills: Cat B Full Car/Van UK clean manual driving licence. Good communication skills.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
REMARKABLE OPERATION
Read and understand the Driver Handbook
Be responsible for your load and that it is correct and safely stowed in the vehicle
Be familiar with safe working practices in relation to your role including risk assessments for all relevant activities
Ensure you are equipped with, and familiar in using relevant handling equipment
Be familiar with the delivery schedule in terms of sequence and timings
Plan your route to ensure efficient and timely delivery, taking care to avoid road obstructions, such as low bridges
Communicate promptly with the office about any delays or problems en route
Take responsibility for unloading packages to customers ensuring no damage to product, and following delivery procedures in terms of returns and signatures
Ensure van reaches temperature before starting your journey and report any temperature issues that become apparent during your journey
Maintain effective customer relations
Physically capable of manually handling
Have a flexible approach to working hours
REMARKABLE BUSINESS
Ensure the vehicle is kept in a good working condition, and all daily safety checks are completed, and any defects reported through the defect reporting system
To ensure legal compliance with regard to Drivers’ Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive
Comply with all relevant traffic regulations, including adhering to speed limits
Be responsible for ensuring storage temperatures on the vehicle are within safe permitted range
Ensure all paperwork is correctly completed and returned to the office at the end of each shift
Drive in safe and responsible manner
Put forward any suggestions or concerns relating to safety via your Supervisor, Manager or your Health and Safety representative
