The position of Class 1 Casual Tramper Driver involves:

  • Collecting and delivering customers products on a curtain sided trailer, this will include a great deal of load security using ratchet straps.
  • Delivering loads throughout the UK both full and groupage loads.
  • Using a handheld PDA to complete paperwork.
  • Dealing with customers face to face and over the phone.
  • Keeping in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and managing our customers’ expectations.
  • This will include nights away.
  • This may also include travelling to a different depot, expenses will be paid.
  • Attending regular training sessions.

    • Essential skills required for Class 1 Casual Tramper Driver:

  • Must have a UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence.
  • Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
  • Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
  • Be passionate about providing excellent customer service.
  • Working to deadlines.
  • Confident, polite and a team player.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Due to the nature of the role applicants must be fit, flexible, hardworking and self-motivated.

  • Hourly rate £16.09-£18.84 (including holiday pay) depending on hours worked. PLUS Additional £2.75 per hour for working between 21:00hrs and 04:00hrs.
