About my life
I am a fun-loving young adult who likes to go bowling, go on days out, out for walks, loves playing games, dancing, going to my clubs and football.
I need support 2:1 from my 24/7 care team, feeling safe and supported and I need help when out in the community. Sometimes I can exhibit behaviours of distress, so I need skilled carers to help me feel safe.
I currently attend school Monday to Fridays and enjoy days out at the weekends. I am about to leave school so my routine will change, and my week will then involve three days of education and four days of activities which will include social care, work placement and fun days out.
You must be able to remain calm under pressure, be computer literate, and understand the challenges autistic people and people with intellectual disabilities face. You must be a great team player. This is a great opportunity to make a positive difference to a young person’s life.
“Our aim is to enhance A’s quality of life and develop sustainable behaviour strategies. The team’s focus is on supporting daily living skills and emotional stability. We promote choice, control and independence wherever possible.”
We are based in Kingston Park near to the metro at Kenton Bank Foot, which is a 20-minute drive from the city centre.
