HGV Class 1 and Class 2 drivers

Driver Hire Colchester are recruiting for HGV Class 1 and Class 2 Drivers, for an immediate start.

You will have the opportunity to work for a range of clients across the CO postcode, starting in locations such as Colchester, Harwich, Sudbury, Earls Colne etc, dependent on where you live.

Job Role

  • Work for a variety of clients on days that suit you,
  • Example of work on offer: General Haulage, Flatbed, Dock work, Pallet network, HIAB etc.
  • Mainly Monday to Friday day work, but occasional night and weekend work available.
  • 8 – 10hours minimum pay per shift, depending on the client
  • Weekly pay, PAYE, Pension contribution
  • LGV Class 2 pay starts at £14.50 p/hr, Class 1 pay starts at £15.50 p/h, higher rate for specific clients, weekends, nights and specialised skills (Holiday included in your hourly rate)
  • Mainly Monday to Friday day shifts, but occasional night work, nights out and tramping available.

    • Requirements:

  • The successful candidates will be able demonstrate safe loading and unloading, aswell as abiding by the highway code at all times.
  • Must have have good communication skills
  • Previous experience is advantageous,
  • Must have own transport due to early starts and clients locations
  • Full and valid Category C (Class 2) and or C+E (Class 1) licence with an in date CPC and digi cards are required with no more than 6 points & no DR, DD or IN convictions for insurance purposes.

    • Please be advised the advertised pay rate is inclusive of your holiday pay at 12.07%. Please ask if you would like to accrue holiday.
