Sea Logistics Business Development manager

JOB DESCRIPTION Join a global leading logistics provider in the key role as a Business Development Manager within our Sea logistics business. You will work with our excellent and highly competent Sales and Operations teams and promote and develop the UK with key overseas partners and route through structured and constant interaction.

Your Role

A customer facing role to develop and promote the growth of Sea Logistics business through a focused approach collaborating with and supporting Sales and Operations by bringing in new business and maintaining current business.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for business development of sealogistics - collaborate with all levels of the sales organisation on keyopportunities.
  • Develop and own strategy in line with, and executionto achieve agreed growth targets for sea logistics.
  • Targeted number of client visits per month: OwnedCustomer and Support Sales Customer Visits. Provide sales leads to the Sales organisation as well as delivering new business within own sales pipeline
  • Maintain and develop overseas partner relationships, including pipeline development, sales lead creation and focused activities with our overseas company partners.
  • Understand customer requirements to ensure effective alignment with supplier sourcing. Conduct regular reviews of market sector strategy, new business opportunity and value creation.
  • Ensure key client requirements are effective, profitable and linked to the operational department.
  • Maintain service KPI’s for both customer and supplier, supported by regular key client KPI updates and QBR’s. Ensure proactive response to key client service requirements and issues.
  • International travel required to support the business development. Manage, build and develop relationships with overseas partners to mutual benefit.
  • Your Skills and Experiences

  • You should have good problem solving ability
  • Excellent organisational & time management skills
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience of gathering and interpreting business needs and offering suitable solutions
  • In depth interest of Sea Logistics Products.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to translate technical jargon & keep stakeholders informed
  • Collaboration skills at all levels; Excellent networking ability
  • Full driver’s license with flexibility to travel nationally and overseas
