Your Team
As our Lead Engineer - Build & Support, you will join our Vehicle Engineering team, where we work at the critical intersection of autonomy software and vehicle hardware.
You will be responsible for:
Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction and mentorship to a team of engineers responsible for the build and maintenance of autonomous vehicles.
System Integration: Oversee the integration of various hardware and software components into the autonomous vehicle platform, ensuring seamless operation, optimal performance and QA of installation and performance.
Vehicle Build and Support: Lead the team in the physical construction of the autonomous vehicles, including mechanical, electrical, and sensor system installations.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to autonomous vehicle systems, CAN bus architecture and Drive By Wire systems to ensure vehicles are maintained in optimal condition.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to the build and support process, enhancing efficiency, reliability, and safety.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, integration, Oxa-Driver and controls engineers, to achieve project goals.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all autonomous vehicles meet rigorous safety standards and comply with relevant regulations.
Documentation: Create and collate vehicle build documentation, keep the BOM accurate and determine EOL engineering sign off
Requirements
What you will need to succeed in this role:
Bachelor's Degree: in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Motorsport or a related field.
Experience: Previous experience in the autonomous vehicle, robotics industry or Motorsport with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of autonomous vehicle hardware and software systems, including sensors, actuators, and control systems.
Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and motivate a team, providing guidance and support while fostering a collaborative environment.
Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, suppliers, partners and customers

Hands-on experience of building and modifying robots
Proven experience in leading and growing a team
Understanding of systems engineering, integration and development
Fabrication experience
Experience in running workshop facility and full understanding of Health and Safety
