Job Description

Working in collaboration with the Transport Manager, the Transport Coordinator will be responsible for the day to day operation of the site and driver workforce.

Salary: £27,141 per annum

Shift: 4 on 4 off nights

Key Duties of a Transport Coordinator: 

  • Delivery of the organisational requirements relating to drivers, depot and yard staff.
  • Attendance and coordination of first line HR matters relating to depot and driver workforce in conjunction with Transport Manager.
  • Standards of maintenance of company assets and the depot are delivered.
  • Support to the Transport Manger in delivering continuous improvement initiatives through effective data analysis and communication.
  • Take ownership for identifying issues and seeks to provide resolutions.
  • Report Vehicle/Trailer defects and escalating to the fleet department and relevant stakeholders.
  • Completing daily risk assessments of yard and office.
  • Ensure legal compliance by keeping tracker of working time directive for the driver workforce.
  • Coordinating CPC driver recordsEnsure customer demand is met by proactively.
  • Driver resource Vs vehicle requirements.
  • Upkeep of vehicle allocation.
  • Staff absence.
  • New starter and leaver information, Driver holiday request submissions.
  • Assisting Transport Manager with interview process for drivers.
  • Ensuring all personnel files are up to date.
  • Management of driver expenses.
  • Qualifications

  • Proven track record within the Transport and Logistics Industry.
  • Understanding of Tachograph legislation and EU Drivers House and WTD Legislation.
  • Strong IT Skills with particular experience in Microsoft word, Excel, and Outlook and ideally have an understanding of transport in-house systems, like Microlise and GTS.
  • Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
