Ferguson Transport & Shipping are currently recruiting for a full time (40hrs) Painter/Labourer based at Corpach, Fort William. Basic hourly rate of £14.76 plus an overtime rate of £17.67 per hour.
This job involves working alongside our Paint Sprayer / Panel Beater to ensure vehicles, trailers and company premises are maintained to the required corporate standard. The successful applicant will have a shared responsibility to carry out accident & damage repairs and carrying out building maintenance where required. This role will involve occasional travel and overnight stays.
Previous experience of painting would be an advantage, however internal training will be provided. Operating forklift and other plant/machinery, once trained and competent will be a requirement for this role.
Work must be carried out in a safe and controlled manner and with a professional attitude, ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed and company policies related to safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ), as well as other relevant policies and procedures, are complied with.
Duties will include:
Carrying out paint spraying when required on company vehicle, trailers and premises (such as line painting).
Carrying out accident damage repairs to vehicles and trailers.
Assisting in the workshop by helping the other staff with tasks as required, including maintaining workshop housekeeping.
Assisting with refurbishment of all vehicles and small plant.
Building maintenance where required, including operating plant/machinery (where trained to do so)
Miscellaneous duties i.e. working on projects with other staff members as directed.
Occasional jobs away from home i.e. Kishorn, including overnight stays.
Completing paperwork and records as required for the role.
Assist paint sprayer / panel beater to carry out tasks according to Ferguson Transport procedures in a safe and responsible manner.
