    • Our client is a leading food manufacturer, supplying into bakeries, supermarkets and online food delivery companies. They are looking for a Transport Coordinator (Supervisor) to lead the busy HGV driver / fleet operations on the night shift.

    Role & Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Transport Manager on nights, working closely to organise and manage safety,

    • performance and compliance

  • Supervising 15 HGV drivers, across 35 routes on nights
  • Step into the transport manager role when they are on holiday/absent
  • Make sure all deliveries/collections of all good to/from customers are in accordance with all legal and company requirements
  • Ensure that vehicle service issues are escalated, communicated and logged for compliance
  • Drive route planning, TACO’s management, debriefing and workload allocation
  • Hands-on sometimes, jumping into the yard to shunt vehicles around or do some deliveries
  • Office based administrative tasks, planning schedules, data input

    • Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Must have an HGV Class 1 Driving Licence
  • Happy to be a hands-on supervisor, but also step up into a manager role when needed
  • Good supervisory skills – confident, open, flexible & honest
  • Happy and comfortable working permanent nights
  • Able to make decisions in a fast-paced, ever changing environment
  • Must have worked in some form of transport / logistics operation
  • General understanding of transport legal compliance
  • Strong administrative skills – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, using transport scheduling packages
