Job Description:

Driver Hire are currently seeking a Class 2 HGV Driver for our client based in Fareham.

Our client is seeking an experienced Class 2 HGV driver for a temporary driving role which will become permanent after 13 weeks for the right candidate. The role will be Monday to Friday (07:00 – 16:30) each week and deliveries will cover the South Coast, Swanage, Newbury, and Eastbourne.

Some deliveries will be forked on and off, but there will also be handballing, so the candidate must be comfortable lifting moderate weight and doing this daily.

Full PPE and uniform provided plus a good benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently operating a Class 2 HGV vehicle.
  • Required to drive any of their vehicles on any given day- the fleet ranges from 3.5t sprinter – 16t Daf curtain siders.
  • Delivering goods safely and securely (approx. 8 – 15 drops per shift using phone based POD and Truck map software).
  • Providing excellent customer service throughout the working day.

    • Requirements:

  • Valid Class 2 HGV licence – 6+months experience is essential .
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.

    • Physically fit and able to manage manual tasks associated with the job.
