The position of Class 1 Casual Driver involves:

  • Casual position covering sickness, holidays and working in peak periods.
  • Making multi drop palletised deliveries and collections to and from businesses and private addresses across North Devon.
  • Loading/unloading of vehicle, using tail lift and pump trucks, ensuring load security.
  • Planning route on a day to day basis.
  • Complete daily vehicle checks on your company phone.
  • Working closely with the network hubs.
  • Keeping in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and managing our customers’ expectations.
  • Attending regular training sessions.

    • Essential skills for Class 1 Casual Driver:

  • Must have a UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence.
  • Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
  • Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
  • Be passionate about providing excellent customer service.
  • Working to deadlines.
  • Confident, polite and a team player.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Due to the nature of the role applicants must be fit, flexible, hardworking and self-motivated.
