We’re looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our client as a Construction Machinery Transport Planner. You’ll be working for a leading plant hire company and provider of specialist attachments in the UK and Ireland, known for its investment in both its people and its products & services.

  • What you’ll do:

  • Spearhead nationwide deliveries of construction machinery using our extensive HGV fleet.
  • Plan and execute efficient logistics to ensure timely transport of machinery to project sites.
  • Coordinate delivery and collection , including scheduling, vehicle allocation, and driver assignments.
  • Optimize resource allocation for on-time and accurate deliveries.
  • Partner with site managers to tailor transport plans for specific project needs.
  • Oversee transport providers and address any service concerns.
  • Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding deliveries.
  • Ensure adherence to all health & safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all transport operations.
  • Streamline transport systems by implementing improved tracking and reporting protocols.
  • Meticulously follow company policies and procedures.
  • Proactively identify and resolve transport issues through effective communication and solution-oriented thinking.
  • Schedule vehicle maintenance to ensure fleet readiness.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by keeping clients informed with regular phone and email updates.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external departments.
  • Handle data responsibly , adhering to DPA, GDPR, and company data policies
  • What we need:

  • Proven expertise in transport route planning for construction machinery and heavy equipment .
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with a proven track record of problem-solving.
  • Experience in the construction or heavy machinery transport industry is a must.
  • In-depth knowledge of transport regulations and transport management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and takes initiative to identify and solve problems.
  • Strong administrative skills and proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Experience in the construction or plant sector is a plus
