The role
As a Royal Engineer Equipment Specialist, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of Specialists working on Royal Engineer Bridging equipment to ensure the safety of our nation.

Day-to-day, you'll help with the maintenance of the Stored Operational Fleet (SOF) Royal Engineer Bridging (REB) and associated REB assisting the Inspectorate of Engineer Resources (IER) in the preparation of REB inspections.

  • Ensure that all RE bridging equipment variants are prepared/repaired to a very high standard to enable the inspection by the Inspectorate of Engineer Resources
  • Keeping accountability of REB components and bridging assets
  • Always provide a safe workplace.
  • Ensure all health and safety policies and equipment operating procedures are always adhered to

    • Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.

    Please note that this position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

    This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Ashchurch.

    Essential experience of the Royal Engineer Equipment Specialist:

  • Experience in using hand towels, power tools, and mounted tools
  • Experience in a workshop and/or warehouse environment
  • Knowledge of military equipment would be advantageous

    • Qualifications for the Royal Engineer Equipment Specialist:

  • Forklift licence

    • Security Clearance
    The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
