Job description

Due to expansive growth, we are now recruiting a number of  Night Shift Production Operatives  at our Snacks Factory, Harwich, Essex.

Whilst this will be on a zero hour contract initially, it will be with a view to being permanent full time within the the next 3 – 6 months.

  • Salary/Rate of Pay : Starting from £10.42 per hour + night shift premium of 10%
  • Status:  Zero hours
  • Hours of Work:  7pm till 7am (12 Hour Shift)
  • Location:  Harwich, Essex

    • Typical daily duties will include:

  • Inspect, pack food products, label cartons and stack
  • Organise production processes to maximise efficiency and meet targets
  • Ensure quality standards for all products are met, raising any concerns
  • Ensure company procedures for Health, Hygiene and Safety and Food Safety are followed
  • Manage operation of the line assigned and report any issues or breakdowns to the Production Manager/ Engineers
  • Identify potential areas for improvement to production methods and processes

    • Skills Required:

  • Previous experience working within a food production environment desirable but not essential as full training will be provided to support ongoing progression/development
  • Attention to detail is imperative
  • Good numeracy and written skills
  • Confident working in a team and independently
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Have a strong work ethic conveying confidence and passion in delivering high quality service
  • Being committed to safety, quality and productivity
  • Achieving a high standard of punctuality and attendance, following company production rules, adhering to health and safety rules and promote a safe working environment
  • Due to the nature of the roles a degree of manual handling is required (training provided)

    • You may have experience in some of the following:

  • Filling out records including weight, metal checks, H&S, quality, and food safety
  • Experience working in a labour-intensive, hands-on environment
  • Forklift driving
  • Food Production/ Packing / Machine operator experience
