ABOUT THE ROLE

Cover all aspects of day to day running of the Warehouse and Customisation Facility, to fulfil customer orders in a timely and accurate manner to meet Quality Standards and achieve Service Level Agreements and departmental KPIs. Facilitate the inspection of all in-coming materials / product.

KEY ACTIVITIES

Resource Allocation

  • Supervise the day to day activities of a warehouse department ensuring excellent customer service, high productivity, scheduling staff and ensuring a safe work environment.
  • To adhere to the company’s Equal Opportunities policy and Dignity at work policy in all activities and to actively promote equality of opportunity wherever possible.
  • Monitor all activities within the facility, to ensure the efficient allocation of duties.
  • Rotate staff in accordance with current standards, to create a balanced work team.
  • Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, plus employee performance reviews.
  • Controlling Internal & External Product/ Material Flows

  • Plan and co-ordinate the incoming goods, storage and dispatch of items in a timely and efficient manner to achieve your team objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as determined by the Warehouse Manager.
  • Ensure daily dispatch targets are achieved and outstanding customer orders are prioritised effectively.
  • Liaise with the carriers used to ensure efficient delivery to customers.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that the quality of the product, storage conditions and service within the department is maintained at the highest possible standards for the customer.
  • Maintain the accuracy of stock, always using stock rotation and by promptly investigating any stock discrepancies.
  • Maintain quality, batch control and traceability of stock and to ensure the department operates to the quality manual.
  • Organizing and ensuring accurate and periodic cycle counts and stock takes.
  • Ensure effective, safe, accurate and timely stock management to include space allocation, stock transfer and dealing with non-confirming product.
  • Organise goods returned stock in accordance with the goods return policy.
  • Manage the association of all products to the correct barcodes were applicable.
  • Customisation

  • Customising pouches in accordance with patient requests.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, ensuring the template database is up to date and any additions or amendments acted upon with urgency.
  • Completing daily / weekly checks and monthly reports.
  • Provide in-depth training as and when required.
  • To ensure all cutting quality issues are investigated and acted upon.
  • Investigate customisation complaints and report on findings.
  • Ensure the customisation machine is adequately maintained and kept clean and tidy.
  • Attending the cutting development team forum when required .
  • Health and Safety

  • Carry out annual risk assessments when required.
  • Attend regular Health and safety committee meetings.
  • Ensure all relevant H&S training is updated.
  • Organise fire alarm test/ drills when applicable.
  • Continuous Improvement

  • Assist the Warehouse Manager in identifying opportunities for process improvement, making recommendations where necessary, adopting a Continuous Improvement culture.
  • Engender a culture of cleanliness and efficiency throughout the Warehouse environment, ensure that all staff and equipment perform to their optimum efficiency.
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager to achieve KPI’s including efficiencies, resourcing, quality, waste, compliance and throughput.

  • Liaising with other departments within the business group to ensure the common goal is achieved.
  • To be responsible for your own health and safety and that of your colleagues, in accordance with the company’s’ Health and Safety policy.
  • To undertake any sampling/ relabelling process as required in accordance with customer’s requirements
  • To ensure any export documentation is obtained to enable shipment.
  • To be responsible for site security as well and a key holder for the site.
  • To adhere to the company’s Quality policy and Environmental policy.
  • Maintain a system of document control and archiving. 
  • Be prepared to undertake any internal / external training as required.
  • To be flexible as possible with working hours at times of heavy workload.
  • To undertake other duties as may be reasonably required.
  • KEY SKILLS

    Essential

  • Supervisory experience of a large team within a warehouse environment.
  • Experience in using digital warehouse stock control systems.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Working knowledge of using word processing and spreadsheet packages.
  • Desirable

  • Articulated forklift certification.
  • Warehouse system experience e.g. SAGE, SAP.
  • First Aid trained.
  • Warehouse relevant training, COSH etc.
  • Team management training.

  • Warehouse team working at the Comber site.

  • Product suppliers, couriers, plus any other visitors to the Comber site.
  • Transport/ courier companies of incoming and outgoing product.

  • Objective based bonus
  • Monday-Friday 08.30-17.00
  • Total 40 hours per week
