We are Talk: Talk is the destination for viewers and listeners who are interested in straight-talking opinion and expert insight on news and current affairs in the UK. The talent roster for Talk includes Julia Hartley-Brewer, Mike Graham, Jeremy Kyle and a host of others presenters. Talk attracts over 40 million monthly online views, and on DAB Radio, its audience has grown by more than 19% year-on-year. Talk is distributed across a range of platforms including YouTube, Amazon Fire, Samsung, LG and others, as well as digital radio.
The Role:
As a Multicam Operator you will be reporting to the Visual Operations Manager - you will provide high quality output for the station. You will be dedicated to ensuring the visualisation of Talk as it continues to go from strength to strength and take the station to the next level. You will be required to have laser-like focus and not be distracted with what can be a lively and noisy control room or newsroom. This role involves shift work, evenings and weekends
Responsibilities:
Visual content creation and Project Management
Correctly copying text on to screen graphics
Liaising with the Visual News Producer/Editor and grabbing assets from folders
Make sure presenters are framed correctly and constantly checking the output
To be fully aware of all compliance issues including Ofcom and reporting restrictions
Take responsibility with what can be done to make our visuals look next level
Reporting technical issues through the appropriate channels
Constantly checking for breaking news and stories
Maintaining Mulicam’s efficiency and making sure that servers are rebooted and storage regularly checked and cleared.
What we’re looking for from you:
A creative mind, ability to think differently about new concepts for radio and visualisation
Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and spot errors
Excellent communications skills
Up to date with current news environment
You thrive in fast-paced environments and are able to work quickly in small teams
Used to working closely with presenters and know how to engage them
Understanding of relevant compliance and legal issues
