Location: Waltham Abbey, Essex (with occasional travel to St Neots)
⏰ Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 16:00
Salary: Up to £35,000 (DOE)
Overview:
A leading roofing company based in Waltham Abbey is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join their team. This role involves managing the warehouse, maintaining stock, and supporting deliveries as a backup van driver. A clean UK driving licence is essential, as you will be required to assist with deliveries and occasional travel to the St Neots unit.
Key Responsibilities:

• Organise and maintain a tidy warehouse, implementing continuous improvements to stock control and storage systems.
• ️ Manage stock for hard metal and flat roofing materials, ensuring availability as needed.
• Backup Van Driver: Occasionally assist with deliveries, driving the company van as needed. Ensure materials are safely transported to various locations and delivery documentation is completed.
• ️ Ensure compliance with COSHH regulations by safely storing and disposing of hazardous materials.
• ♻️ Oversee metal recycling and manage PPE stock levels.
• Receive deliveries and prepare materials for dispatch, ensuring materials are organised and ready for distribution.
• Operate warehouse equipment like forklifts, hand pallet trucks, and load gates, conducting regular checks for safety and efficiency.
• Split your time between two warehouse locations on the business park, including the newly acquired unit.

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail for managing warehouse operations.
• Ability to follow safety regulations and procedures in warehouse and delivery settings.
• Van Driving (Backup Role): Comfortable driving the company van to assist with deliveries when required. Must be able to safely load and unload goods and ensure delivery documentation is completed.
• Forklift licence (preferred but not essential).
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

• A clean UK driving licence is essential for the backup van driving duties.
• Previous warehouse or logistics experience is required.
• Familiarity with COSHH regulations or willingness to learn.
