Role and Responsibilities: As a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting detailed assessments of speech, language, and communication needs in children.
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to each child’s needs.
  • Providing direct therapy and support to children and their families.
  • Collaborating with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals to support the child’s progress.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of client progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Participating in service development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Traveling to community sites, including schools, homes, and clinics, to deliver services.
    • Essential Criteria: To be considered for this role, you must have:
  • A degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience working with children with speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Strong assessment, treatment planning, and intervention skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a car, as the role involves visiting various community sites.
    • Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.
  • Proficiency in managing complex cases and working with children with severe communication difficulties.
    • Requirements: 
  • Valid and active NMC Registration. 
  • Minimum of 6 months demonstrated experience as a Registered Nurse with medical proficiency. 
  • Excellent understanding of medical terminology and procedures. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities. 
  • Empathetic, compassionate, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care. 
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment. 
  • Attention to detail and ability to make sound decisions under pressure. 
    • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check. If you are not registered with the DBS Update Service, MPS Healthcare will process this check for you at no cost.
