The Role:

So, what will you be doing as a Development Technician ?

  • Undertake surveys on returned assemblies and carry out modifications and repairs.
  • Test electrical and electronic assemblies and equipment using standard safe operating procedures to MoD and commercial standards.
  • Build first-off prototype equipment and liaise with Engineering to achieve optimum solutions.
  • Conduct testing and laboratory testing of products.
  • Repair PCB and wired assemblies to IPC standards.
  • Ensure supporting documentation and company procedures are followed.
  • Perform any other duties as reasonably required by Management.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to build prototype equipment and find optimal solutions.
  • Adhere to health and safety legislation and policies to ensure a safe and legally compliant working environment.
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures and documentation standards.

What are we looking for in our next Development Technician?

  • Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety requirements and legislation.
  • Ability to read electrical/electronic/wiring diagrams.
  • Broad range of general engineering skills, covering communication (written and verbal), systems engineering methodologies, and understanding of safety and configuration control.
  • Awareness of ESD prevention practices and component handling.
  • HND/HNC in relevant discipline or equivalent.
  • IPC 610/620 qualification.
  • J-STD-001 qualification.
  • IPC-771/7721 qualification.
