Multi-Skilled Office and Warehouse Operative

This is a versatile role for a multi-skilled candidate to work for a local client in Newton Abbot. This position requires a candidate who can utilise their skills in forklift operation (training provided), customer service, manual handling around the depot, and computer use. The successful candidate will need to competently use a computer and be willing to learn new software.

Role Overview:

The role combines computer administrative work, physical labour, customer-facing tasks, and forklift operation.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday (No weekend working)
  • Monday – Thursday: 8:00 – 16:30
  • Friday: 8:00 – 15:30
  • All staff members must simultaneously take two predetermined breaks: a 20-minute tea break at 10:00 and a 30-minute lunch break at 13:00.

    • Pay:

  • £12 per hour PAYE or £13.44 per hour with advanced payment, including holiday pay

    • Key Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and assisting customers on site
  • Unloading deliveries in the yard
  • Loading vehicles
  • Inputting delivered stock into company software (training provided)
  • Participating in monthly stocktake that requires accuracy and attention to detail
  • Using a forklift to move and store stock in the correct areas of the yard (training provided)
  • Assisting team members with tasks, such as helping with long pieces of steel bending bar
