We are looking to increase HV installations maintenance team and recruiting a JIB-approved experienced electrician.

The Role:

  • Maintenance of Low voltage & High voltage installations such as :
    PFC Power Factor equipment maintenance
    Load Monitoring/ Data log monitoring to main
  • Maintenance of HV installation such as :
    Intrusive & Un-intrusive maintenance :
    Transformer oil sample & testing
    Breather maintenance
    Switchgear maintenance
    Partial discharge testing
    Thermal imaging
  • Corrective maintenance such as transformer replacements, transformer oil replacement, transformer cable oil replacement, Battery tripping unit replacement,…
  • Assess safety and apply controls and safety measures required.
    Facilitate a safe working environment during high / low voltage working.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures
  • Liaise closely with team to understand and manage priorities.

    • Across most sites are in and around the West Midlands.


    Desirable experience:

  • ECS Gold card – JIB Approved electrician required
  • Proven track record of experience in the Electrical and/or distribution Industry
  • Experience in HV maintenance work would be a plus
  • Holding an HV or LV Authorised Person – SSEN, UKPN, Private Networks would be advantageous
  • Motivation & dedication to be trained by Actemium to a HV Senior Authorised Person level
  • 18th edition / 2391 inspection & testing
  • Good knowledge of H&S and its practical implications.
  • Good knowledge of Distribution Safety rules and their application.
  • Computer literate – skilled in MS office
  • Full driver’s License, willingness to travel within the UK as required, and stay away a couple days a month
  • Willingness to work weekends with overtime pay
  • A self—disciplined approach, organized, structured and consistent in approach.
  • A calm professional manner
  • A “Can-Do” “Roll the sleeves up” attitude with a friendly & engaging personality
  • Good communication skills (written & oral) are required for colleagues, customers, suppliers, sub-contractors (i.e. all levels).
