211478 - Clinical or Counselling Psychologist

Kilsyth, Scotland, gb

The Role

An opportunity has arisen to join the Adult North Psychological Therapies Team as an 8B Clinical/counselling Psychologist role. We would welcome applications from appropriately qualified individuals who share our commitment and values in providing a high quality service to residents within Lanarkshire.

The core focus of the role is upon the psychological assessment and treatment of clients, their families and/or carers referred from GPs and from wider CMHT colleagues, referred as outpatients by referrers within the North locality primarily. The post also has an area-wide remit, undertaking clinical work across the ten teams where necessary to ensure equity of service. This would be in common with all other clinicians within the Adult Psychological Therapies Teams. As appropriate, involvement in offering group intervention - digitally or in person would be an expectation of the position.

Ideally the post-holder will be able to draw upon additional training achieved post-qualification relevant to the service, to a level of a working knowledge as a minimum. This may well be one or more of the following: BFT, CBT for Psychosis, CFT, DBT, EMDR, CAT, Schema etc.

The post-holder will be expected to undertake a role deputising for the Co-ordinator as required, representing the service at weekly referral allocation meetings with the CMHT as required, PTT team meetings, representing the North PTT at other meetings within NHS Lanarkshire, with local referrers etc.

The post-holder will have input into the line management of staff within the team, e.g. reviewing training needs via TURAS, case management meetings and supervision of both trainees and qualified staff within the team and across the area as required. They will act as the main point of contact for team members and those who make contact with the team during the Co-ordinators absence during sickness, leave etc., where feasible.

There is a requirement for the post-holder to be involved in activities across the wider work of the Psychological Therapies Teams operating within NHS Lanarkshire where necessary and appropriate, e.g. staff training, service development.

Full and further details can be found with the attached job description and person specification. Informal enquiries regarding the post will be welcomed by the Consultant for the team: Telephone: 01236 801688.
