The RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join Metcalfe Farms Haulage as an apprentice based at the company’s head office in Leyburn, North Yorkshire. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team as an Apprentice Transport Planner. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and develop a career in HGV Logistics Planning.This role is a full-time position. The first 56 weeks of your employment will be completing your apprenticeship. This is a workplace based role where you will complete the apprenticeship online and with all sessions with the training provider completed virtually.Key aspects of the role include:✅ Assist in planning and coordinating transport operations✅ Use mapping software and transport models to analyze data✅ Work on projects to improve transport efficiency✅ Gain experience in sustainability and transport regulations✅ Support the team with administrative tasksWhat We’re Looking For:✔️ Enthusiastic and eager to learn about transport planning✔️ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills✔️ Good communication and teamwork abilities✔️ Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office, mapping/GIS software is a plus)✔️ Minimum qualifications: GCSEs in Maths & English or equivalent✔️ No prior experience needed— just a willingness to grow and a passion for transport and logistics!What We Offer: Paid apprenticeship with a nationally recognized qualification in Transport Planning Hands-on training with experienced professionals Career progression opportunities within the company Supportive and collaborative work environmentThe Apprenticeship is a Transport Operator 2. This will give the successful candidate a great understanding of a transport business.
