Are you looking to gain great experience in a satisfying job where you feel supported? If this sounds like you, maybe a Support Worker role with an award-winning charity is the change you’ve been looking for! At Hollybank in Inverurie, we support 4 ladies with autism and learning disabilities to live as independently as possible in their shared house. The ladies you'll be supporting range in age from 31 to 62 and enjoy lots of different activities, so we're looking for people to join the team who are interested in trying new things and supporting people to achieve their own personal goals. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to support the ladies with going to the movies, swimming, dance school, going out to restaurants or for a coffee and, of course, clothes shopping! Routine, schedules and good communication are very important to the ladies, so previous experience using pictorial schedules and Makaton would be a massive bonus. Our staff team are very supportive and experienced and also provide some support with: • Medication administration • Cooking and home maintenance • Social support and support to achieve personal goals • Managing the finances of the people we support Our team provide support 7 days a week, so we ask for flexibility to work a variety of shifts from Monday-Sunday and this will include some sleepover shifts. Our shift patterns can vary, but some examples of typical shifts are listed below: - 8am - 3pm - 3pm - 8.30pm - 8am - 1pm - 9am - 3pm We are currently recruiting for female Support Workers for a 24 hour post. Sometimes the people we support really need a male or female person to support them. For this particular role, a female colleague is required. This is a genuine occupational requirement as defined by the Equality Act . Your values: We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience. This is why we're really passionate about recruiting to individuals’ values and we recruit people from all walks of life; From people with vast experience in a support worker or care assistant role, from people with lived experiences who may have friends or relatives with disabilities or have looked after older relatives, to people with no experience at all. Naturally it is important too that you share our company values - We Include; We Deliver; We Aspire; We Respect; We Enable, which are at the heart of everything we do and ensure that we deliver high quality, consistent care and support. People's values are important to use, so we look for people with: - Patience - Empathy, compassion and sensitivity to others - A strong work ethic - Reliability - Honesty - Determination - A problem solver - Resilience
